5 Mistakes That Are Detrimental to Your Love Life
Five common mistakes in dating and relationships
1. Being vague or dropping hints
2. Believing if someone cares about you, they’ll know what you’re thinking/feeling
3. Thinking if you’ve been with someone for a long time, they’re know your needs
4. Assigning meaning to their actions
5. Interpreting body language
The only way to know what your significant other or date is thinking, feeling or needing is…to just ask them. Sounds simple, but it’s amazing how often we forget to ask. Check in with them, and stop making assumptions.
Be clear in your requests instead of dropping hints and hoping they’ll know what you want. Process your hurt feelings before having a difficult conversation so you can be present to the person you’re with — not projecting a past experience on them.
When we clear relationships of assumptions and expectations that they should just know what we want and need, our relationships improve exponentially.
Can you think of a time you expected a partner or date to read your mind? How did that go? Please share your experience below.
