The Golden Bachelorette has been a breath of fresh air from the usual dating show fare. The 61-year-old Golden Bachelorette is a widow who saw herself emotionally unavailable to date again as her husband had only passed two years before she joined the dating show. While at a restaurant with a friend, she acknowledged it was time to put a new spark in her life and return to the dating saddle. However, she was apprehensive at first knowing she would look like an old fool. She mentioned in an interview with CNN that dating for women in their sixties and seventies isn’t a dignified thing to be doing. After previously joining the Golden Bachelor, Vassos realized that many women her age are still playing the dating game. She took the opportunity with hopes of finding a special connection and writing another chapter to her story.
