What is the “Mom-aissance” and what does it mean for single moms reentering the dating world?
It means embracing who you are and what you want at this new stage of life. Take the time to say “I deserve to be happy” and own your power and have fun. It can feel like your entire purpose is your children. You don’t want to lose yourself in the process.
What are some practical tips for single parents looking to return to the dating scene?
You have to make sure you’re ready to date again. Being a parent takes up a lot of time and energy. Figure out what you’re looking for. You won’t waste as much time if you’re clear about what you want.
How can single parents navigate answering the tricky “What are you looking for?” question when dating?
If you’re looking for a significant relationship, define the qualities you want to have in a partner. Your kids are a package deal. I wanted a kind person who was ambitious and had a generous spirit.
How can people identify green flags on a dating profile and effectively communicate their needs?
Look for positive aspects of who you are and what you’re looking for instead of negative. That goes for the pictures you pose and the words in your profile.
What are your final words of advice for anyone who wants to go on their last first date?
Sometimes dating can feel overwhelming, but don’t lose hope. Get out there, and start today.
